I've avoided making salads for a long time because of the preparation time. I had an older salad spinner, but it was the kind you had to turn, and cleaning it afterwards always seemed to take a long time. This spinner is a huge improvement over any I've used before. You put the rinsed greens in the strainer, or rinse them after they're in, and then put the strainer in the bowl. One easy push and it spins on its own and it does not move around at all on the counter. I have found that it takes a couple spins to dry them the way I like, but while the greens are spinning, you can be chopping up other salad ingredients. Item description states "not waterproof" but after several rain storms (washer sits on uncovered back deck) it has kept washer dry and clean. Good stick, works better thn anticipated
I am so happy with this dryer lock. It has a good, solid stick and was well worth the money. Now my little 2 year old doesn't play with the dryer door anymore. Thst in itself is money well spent.Just remember to clean the surface well prior to sticking and practice where you will put it so you do not have to readjust it.

Good quality salad dryer
We have a small farmers market business selling produce during the summer months in Idaho. Recently, we visited a much larger operation near Bristow, Oklahoma and saw how they utilized a salad dryer to spin dry various vegetables and salad mixes. Upon returning home, we located such a spinner on Amazon and purchased it. This is a great salad dryer with a novel breaking action that reduces stress on the turning mechanism. Many people try to stop the spinner when done by using the spinner handle as a break. Doing this causes stress on the turning mechanism resulting it problems down the way. This model has a "button-like" mechanism along the top edge that one can push to slow or stop the spinning action. It works much like a brake on a bicycle. This spinner is fairly large so one can spin much more than just salad items. I've used it to dry beets, carrots, and radicchio. I bought this a few months ago. So far I'm using it to help dry Mung Sprouts that I've been growing.It's sturdy and it works alright, though it's hard to handle without the optional base/legs, I saw them advertised on Amazon when I ordered this and now I can't find them.Can someone help with a link for the spinner base ?and / or...
